IMPORTANT POINTS:

  • Cristiano Ronaldo was sued for $1 billion in the United States for promoting Binance.
  • The former Real Madrid footballer is accused of having “promoted, assisted and/or participated in the purchase and sale of unregistered securities in coordination with Binance.”

Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the most famous soccer players in the world, was sued in the United States for $1 billion for promoting Binance which resulted in notable losses for investors.

The complaint was made in a Florida court, where the Real Madrid idol was accused of having “promoted, assisted and/or participated in the purchase and sale of unregistered securities in coordination with Binance.”

In addition, they highlight that the former Juventus player has a team of financial advisors who know perfectly well that the exchange markets cryptocurrencies-securities.

A signing that puts Cristiano Ronaldo in check

In 2022, the current Al-Nassr footballer reached an agreement with the exchange to sell his line of NTFs within the platform. In less than a year, those non-fungible tokens went from being worth $77 to $1.

Clearly, this led to significant losses for investors who accused the Portuguese of promoting Binance and its line of NTFs to obtain “successful sales.”

Just two days ago, the star had recorded a video that was published on Binance’s official Twitter.
