OpenRan Tech To Shake Up Wireless Market Still Years Away – Caixin



OpenRan has been touted as a technology that can break Huawei, Ericsson and Nokia’s domination in the wireless market, but the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s Wei Leping cautioned that the emerging technology is still far from maturity, Caixin Global reported.

Typical mobile network architecture relies on proprietary equipment provided by equipment vendors such as Ericsson, Huawei, ZTE and Nokia, who have historically provided nearly all of the hardware and software for particular networks.
