Netflix Seeks AI Experts During Hollywood Strike

The Netflix streaming service is looking for specialists in AI and machine learning models. The company offers salaries ranging from $100,000 to $900,000. However, the company has faced criticism.

Netflix has posted three new openings related to AI and machine learning. Meanwhile, the strike by the Writers Guild (WGA) in the United States, who oppose this technology, continues. The protesters are demanding restrictions on the use of software such as ChatGPT.

The company offers salaries ranging from $100,000 to $900,000 according to ads on Linkedin. Two of the positions involve moving to Los Gatos, California, where Netflix’s headquarters are located.

In the accompanying text, the company highlights that machine learning and AI in general are in high demand. It is notable that the organization has posted these vacancies amid collapsing negotiations between the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) and the SAG-AFTRA union.

Both sides failed to reach an agreement, putting future work projects in jeopardy, Deadline reports.

The outlet also published the transcript of the negotiations, revealing that the AMPTP was unable to find an effective solution to “protect union members from AI.”

So far, Netflix has not commented on the situation.
