Bitcoin’s richest whale now has over $2,763,000,000 worth of BTC

The largest Bitcoin whale in the world has come to hold over $2 billion worth of BTC. All this happened after a number of massive transactions that took place at the beginning of June.

According to crypto data platform BitInfoCharts, the whale has added 2,554 Bitcoin in a series of transactions since June 14.

In the week of June 14, the renowned whale acquired 1,698 BTC equivalent to an approximate value of 36.62 million dollars. Since then, the whale has managed to accumulate a value of 856 BTC, which comes to around 17.35 million dollars.

At the time of writing this article, BTC is trading at a value of 21,220.66 USD according to data from CoinMarketCap.

Currently, the whale has a total of 130,227 BTC, which is 0.68% of the current supply. It is the third-largest Bitcoin whale in the world after the wallets belonging to crypto exchanges Binance and Bitfinex.

According to cryptocurrency analytics firm Santiment, the cryptocurrency market crash has led to an increase in the number of Bitcoin whales.

Santiment says that the increase in the number of whales holding more than 10,000 Bitcoin began in February, while the increase in the number of addresses holding between 10 and 10,000 BTC began earlier this month.

The firm says, “While markets have been suppressed, there has been an increase in the number of larger Bitcoin addresses appearing on the network. Addresses of 10 to 10,000 BTC have increased after the drop two weeks ago, and those of more than 10,000 have increased since February.
