A month after the collapse of the Terra ecosystem, researchers have been unearthing what went wrong behind the massive LUNA crash that wiped out $40 billion from investors in a matter of a week. The hacktivist group Anonymous has recently published a video in which it promises to bring to light the “crimes” of Do Kwon, co-founder of Terra.
In the video, Anonymous noted that they will “make sure” that Kwon is “brought to justice as soon as possible.” In a video posted on Sunday, June 26, the Anonymous hacker group posted a list of all of Kwon’s misdeeds.
This includes withdrawing $80 million each month from TerraUSD and LUNA before their collapse. He also discovers Kwon’s role in the collapse of the Basis Cash stablecoin, a project Kwon was working on before Terra. In the video message, Anonymous notes:
Do Kwon, if you are listening, unfortunately there is nothing that can be done to reverse the damage you have done. At this point, the only thing we can do is hold him accountable and make sure he is brought to justice as soon as possible.
“Anonymous is looking into the entire history of Do Kwon since he entered the crypto space to see what we can learn and bring to light. There is no doubt that there are many more crimes to be discovered in the destruction trail of him,” adds the hacker group.
Furthermore, the hacker group also denounces Kwon’s arrogant tactics of trolling competitors and critics and also acting as if he will never fail.
Anonymous chasing personalities from the crypto ecosystem
Anonymous is a decentralized international activist collective formed in 2003. It has been behind major cryptocurrency personalities recently. Last year, in June 2021, Anonymous attacked billionaire Elon Musk for allegedly “destroying lives” using his fame and influence and his Twitter.
Anonymous also criticized Musk for trying to game the crypto market. The video has over 3.4 million views to date. However, Anonymous is not the first to call out Musk.
In fact, many have said that Musk has been manipulating the price of Bitcoin and Dogecoin. Recently, one of the Dogecoin investors also sued Elon Musk for a staggering $258 billion. The complaint noted that Elon Musk was operating and running a Dogecoin pyramid scheme.
Shortly after Anonymous released its YouTube video, it received some support from the community. Followers thanked the channel for its efforts to bring the truth to light. However, users on the r/CryptoCurrency subreddit were more skeptical, calling it an empty threat.
One of the commenters said: “Anonymous is so adolescent now […] This anonymous video is so unthreatening it’s almost weird.” Another added: “I would hope they would have discovered something, but it’s just, well, nothing.”
