North Korean leader Kim Jong Un returned to Pyongyang, state media reported this Wednesday, where he received a “fiery” welcome in the capital after finishing his week-long trip through Russia.

During his visit he also staged a symbolic exchange of rifles with Putin, and Kim declared that bilateral ties with Russia were his “number one priority.”

The North Korean leader arrived in Pyongyang on Tuesday night in his armored train, “in good condition after carrying out immortal external revolutionary activities, which will forever be recorded in the history of the development of friendship between” North Korea and Russia. , indicated the North Korean state agency KCNA.

Several North Korean officials and citizens gathered at the train station to receive Kim Jong Un and welcomed him “with shouts of ‘hurray’!” KCNA explained.

Kim welcomed the crowd and reviewed the honor guard, according to the agency.

North Korean state television broadcast a documentary this Wednesday with the main moments of Kim’s visit to Russia and his meeting with Putin.

The 90-minute recording is titled “An Incident that led to a New Milestone for the Development of relations between North Korea and Russia.”

The video documents Kim’s visits to the Russian Knevichi airfield and the Yuri Gagarin aviation plant, where fighter jets are manufactured.
